1 Bathroom 3

Sunday 12th October 2014 / 1620

After a break last weekend for my 50th birthday, it’s back to work. I’m using this wedge system to make sure the bathroom floor tiles are absolutely level.  They’re pretty expensive for what they are, but they do make for a very good finish, so they’re worth it.

4 Bathroom 3

Sunday 2nd November 2014 / 20:11

Straps to keep the corner together as it’s not very well joined and there’s a crack in it. Battons packed out with Gripfill ready to screw Versapanel to.

Saturday 8th November 2014 / 18:52

More battens to support Versapanel and panel for shower head bracket to screw into.

6 Bathroom 3

Sunday 9th November 2014 / 19:18

Shower mixing valve and pipework. My rule is: never use an elbow if you can make a bend instead. Bends don’t leak and they don’t reduce flow rate as much.

Two weeks on, and I’ve decided to move the valve over a little, which has meant removing some woodwork and re-doing the pipework.

8 Bathroom 3

Saturday 29th November 2014 / 10:27

This week I’ve decided to put the lights in the ceiling to replace the temporary single pendant light that’s been swinging around for ages. I started with three of these, but then added another two and then another above the shower to get the right light level. Sally’s party in the evening.

William said he’d get the bathroom window in before Christmas and it’s happening today.

12 Bathroom 3

I’ve added the wood around the window to attach the plywood to for the false wall.

13a Bathroom 3

Monday 29th December 2014 / 12:53

Shower door in position to check it will be ok. It will not be properly fitted until after tiling and grouting.

The first tile.

15 Bathroom 3

Wednesday 31st December 2014 / 11:56

New year’s eve and things are progressing. The mosaic tiles on the internal curve are a pain, they slither around and the adhesive comes through the gaps.

Saturday 3rd January 2015 / 19:58

Quite good progress as I’m still on holiday.
