1 Opening up the floor

Sunday 29th March 2015 / 17:30

About ten years ago I knocked out this wall to make a large opening. Now it’s time to brick it back up, put a door in and make the room back into a bedroom. The first step is to remove the floor and reveal the remains of the wall. I have bought 28 Thermalite blocks and a door lining kit for this job.

After a break last weekend for my 50th birthday, it’s back to work. I’m using this wedge system to make sure the bathroom floor tiles are absolutely level.  They’re pretty expensive for what they are, but they do make for a very good finish, so they’re worth it.
