Not a bad job. Need to redo the grouting in the near corner as the B&Q sand was a horrible colour.

1 Fitting kitchen

Sunday 26th July 2015 / 12:19

Dismantling the temporary kitchen. The oven slides out onto a sledge I made years ago to make it easier to take it in and out. This kitchen’s done well, there’s not much wrong with any of it after 15 years.

2 Fitting kitchen

Sunday 26th July 2015 / 16:16

Kitchen units a very expensive considering they’re just a few bits of chipboard. This full height unit was the best part of £400 after all the discounts. I’m cutting it to pieces so that I can fit it round the boiler.

6 Fitting the kitchen

Friday 31st July 2015 / 16:51

I’m using part of one of the old units in the corner to make a support for the worktop.

The existing sink has been polished up and a new Franke tap fitted.

The sink is in and all the clamps underneath are done up.

1 Decorating

Monday 29th June 2015 / 20:45

First I need to put up some new coving. As the ceilings have sagged with age and are slightly curved, the coving needs to be curved too, which means holding it in position with these props while the adhesive goes off.

1 Plastering

Monday 22nd June 2015 / 09:12

For this second tranche of plastering, which includes the bathroom ceiling, I am going to some lengths to make sure the new bathroom stays clean.

2 Plastering

Sunday 28th June 2015 / 12:43

The plasterers have been in this week and the plaster’s drying out now. This is the wall that I built. It looks good with plaster on it.
